George Mason University Extends Partnership with CLC

ATLANTA, Ga. (October 14, 2015) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced an extension of its partnership with George Mason University (Mason) to continue managing the University’s successful trademark licensing program through 2021. Mason, which is Virginia’s largest public research university with enrollment of 34,000 students, began partnering with CLC in 1993.

“Mason is committed to maximizing its licensing program,” said David Atkins, Mason’s Director of Contract Management and Licensing. “Our partnership with CLC, coupled with a collaborative effort across campus to engage in licensing initiatives, has been a key factor in our ability to grow Mason royalties in recent years.”

Royalties for Mason’s licensing program have more than doubled since 2005. During this period, with CLC’s assistance, additional retailers began carrying and continue to sell Mason product, including Costco, Walmart, Finish Line, Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Lids, and Dick's Sporting Goods.

CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., signed or extended its licensing agreements with more than 50 partner institutions in 2015. CLC currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including 29 bowl games and the College Football Playoff.
