CLC Launches Rock Your Colors Promotion with Lids
This year’s Rock Your Colors promotion from CLC features a strong collaboration with a strategic retail partner, Lids.   The Lids- program, which includes Lids, Lids Locker Room and Lids Clubhouse stores, launches with an exclusive Rock Your Colors consumer promotion on Monday at more than 800 Lids locations nationwide. 
“Developing a stronger partnership with a key retailer in the college space will provide us with better tracking data on consumer behavior.  This will help us to deliver stronger ROI information to our partner universities to connect better with consumers on future promotions,” said Nicole Armentrout, Sr. Director Brand Marketing at CLC. 
Other national retailers supporting “Rock Your Colors” with feature and display online and in-stores promoting college include Kohls, Fanatics, Walmart, Paradies, and Academy. 
CLC developed Rock Your Colors to leverage the excitement of the college basketball and baseball seasons, to connect with consumers, and to elevate college and collegiate licensed product in the marketplace. CLC has been executing the successful promotion on behalf of its partner universities for the past four years. 
In partnership with headwear licensee, Top of the World, CLC will launch the website, Lids will unveil in-store signage on February 22nd.  Lids will also support the promotion with feature on and through Lids’ social media channels.
Consumers are invited to go to and register for NCAA gear discounts at Lids stores (everyone who scratches off will get a prize). Consumers will also be entered to win the grand prize of the Lids for Life sweepstakes, which is not only a valuable prize, but also one that will keep the college fan shopping for NCAA headwear at Lids for the next 20 years.

  • Five winners (randomly selected) will receive a Lids gift card loaded with credit for 5 Lids hats priced at $34.99 each year for 20 years (2016-2036).
  • Consumers who visit can pick their favorite school on the website; the rest of the experience will be customized by school. (NOTE: only if it is one of the 49 CLC marketing fund schools; consumers picking a non-marketing fund school will just get a CLC-branded “generic” experience). 
  • The school customization has a school-specific banner at the top of the site and a school-specific hat that can be electronically scratched off to reveal the fan prize.
  • The site will be live for four weeks; each week consumers can uncover a different discount/coupon from Lids when they scratch off.  These offers can be redeemed in store or online.  Everyone who scratches off receives something. 
  • Grand Prize winner will be chosen from all consumers who registered at the end of the promotional period.
Rock Your Colors is one of CLC’s four national retail promotions (the others are College Colors, Saturday Ritual and Holiday Cheer Section).
