ATLANTA, GA (October 28, 2015) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the licensing affiliate of IMG College, today announced a ten-year extension of its global partnership with University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. CLC began partnering with Ole Miss in 1982.
“CLC provides Ole Miss with the most experienced staff and innovative marketing and management strategies for growing our brand,” said Kathy Tidwell, Director of University Licensing at Mississippi. “Extending our partnership with CLC best positions Ole Miss for long-term brand value and marketplace growth for the future of the University.”
"CLC is excited to continue building the brand of one of our longest-standing partner institutions,” said Cory Moss, SVP and Managing Director, CLC. “Ole Miss has grown its licensing revenues nearly 200% in the past ten years, and just completed another record royalty year after doing a great job leveraging our complete suite of services – from our national marketing platforms and strategic brand management to CLC’s legal and audit services.”
Ole Miss has seen consistent growth in its licensing revenues, showing annual increases six of the past seven years and 17 of the past 19 years. All revenue from the sale of Ole Miss licensed products supports the University’s General Fund.
Officially-licensed product for Ole Miss is now sold at nearly 4,000 different retailers. Rebel Rags, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Fanatics, and Hibbett Sports drive the majority of Ole Miss sales volume.
CLC, the leading collegiate licensing agency in the U.S., and the licensing affiliate of IMG College, currently represents nearly 200 collegiate institutions, including 30 bowl games, the NCAA and the College Football Playoff.
